Background:
The 3-D Integration Group at NTU is actively seeking a candidate to fill a PhD Research
Scholarship opening in the area of 3-D integration of integrated circuits. This position is
for 1 year in the first instance, with the possibility of further extension for 2 more years.
This is a project funded by Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC: www.src.org)
and therefore expectation is high. You have the opportunity to interact with industry
liaison from SRC member companies (such as Freescale, Intel, IBM, etc) and to
participate in the annual TechCon conference.
Responsibilities:
Your scope of work mostly covers enabling technology for on-wafer 3-D integration of
ICs as well as proof-of-concept demonstration. Reliability issues related to 3-D stacking
of ICs will be studied.
Qualification:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and
Engineering, Physics or related areas is required. A prior clean-room training and
hands-on skill on silicon-based micro-fabrication are advantages.
