Head of the Shenzhen Branch of the National Engineering Laboratory for Digital Video Codec Technology of Peking University, and leader of the Point Cloud Coding Thematic Group of China Digital Audio and Video Codec Technology Standard (AVS). Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Auburn University, USA, postdoctoral fellow in Electrical Engineering, University of California, Davis. He has published many papers in international conferences and journals, and has applied for a number of domestic and foreign invention patents.

His current research interests include video processing and analysis, and video big data mining.
